ET is the obvious answer.

Assassin’s Creed Unity crashed so hard on launch because of bugs that the whole industry took two steps back and delayed every other game by 3 months.

It was mostly unplayable.

Any shit game that does something right. Think of the awesome combat or graphics in a game like Black Desert or the amount of good story telling in Genshin Impact.

Those are both ass tier games, like bottom of the barrel. But the sheer fact that they exist causes a precedent for what can be achieved. A comparison.

The Sims 4 is likely responsible for the existence of Life by You, Paralives, Inzoi etc. The life simulation landscape is about to get larger because of The Sims 4 dropping the ball so badly.
