My understanding is I connect to a specific VPN server (labeled IN: on the app) and that server then routes me to another server which becomes my public IP (labed OUT: on the app)

This is to prevent traffic analyis at least in theory? Ive noted that only the last number for the IP changes however so its possible this is still the same server?
