I’m going to use this post answer some frequently asked questions about the transition from LemmyNSFW to FediNSFW and why it happened.
-
What happened, why the move?
-
Do I have to make a new account on FediNSFW?
- Yes.
-
Can I still post on LemmyNSFW?
-
Please don’t, that will make storage costs and data usage go up, eventually I plan to modify the site’s code to fully prevent post creation.
-
Please use FediNSFW instead.

How are you going to ensure the exact same thing won’t happen to FediNSFW?
- I already have other admin candidates I working with/onboarding.
- I plan to set up the accounts related to the site to be accessible by other admins via a unified admin email address, or via group access.
- I’m going to create a bitwarden vault with relevant credentials in it for all admins. That way if something happens and I disappear other admins can just login and take over.
- As far as cost goes, FOR NOW I can fully afford the cost of the server without donations, as far as I can tell at least.
- Currently the donations are just set to go into my personal account, but I would love to get to the point where we can set something up like or maybe joining the fedihosting foundation and have a pool of donations accessible without me. Not sure how I’m going to do that yet, so if you have suggestions, please let me know.

What apps can I use to connect to piefed/FediNSFW?
-
How can I donate to the instance?
The answers to these questions are subject to change/get appended as needed.
Just a note of thanks: thanks.
This is hella encouraging. Thank you for picking up the torch and good luck.
Dugmeup here.
Used to mod cumsluts, Asiancumsluts, facial, bukkake, creampie, cumhaters and Cuminmouth (see a theme?)
Happy to take it on if neededYou seem kinky!
Where do I dig you up?
Honestly, major props to you for making the best of a bad situation. The fediverse lost a big and important community in LemmyNSFW, and I can’t imagine anyone handling it better than you did during the transition period. Kudos and thank you!
Why can’t new accounts create communities? Seems counterproductive for a migration
it’s only for the first 24 hours after the account is created, it’s to reduce spam
I was genuinely upset when lemmynsfw went down. So far I like this piefed instance a lot better! It seems way less glitchy.
eventually I plan to modify the site’s code to fully prevent post creation
Can you set them all to mod post only?
they already are, but mods are also sometimes still posting lol
There’s one small bug I’ve encountered:
If you submit an image post and later edit that post, it’s treated as URL post and then the image is not expanded (or expandable, depending on your settings) in the “list view” of the feed.
This problem doesn’t occur in the “collage view” of the feed.
I don’t know where to post this, but it would be amazing if we had a sexting community. I might open one myself, but I don’t know how much moderation I can do.
Do you mean a numbers swap or a phone-accessible chat space? Both are doable, obviously there are pros and cons, but the more that needs to take place centrally the higher the cost on the infrastructure. But either model is doable in theory, of course, and it’s not the tech but the money
Sexting but online mi amor. A user seeking for user posts and if anyone is interested sends a DM.
Went ahead and threw you around $140 in XMR to get that going. Privacy is a good thing to have.
I appreciate it!
Did my own NSFW posts survive? I was on Lemmy Users cumming.
All the posts should be in lemmynsfw
Hello again everyone! I don’t hangout around as I used to do, but I appreciate what you are doing and I will try to donate.\ I believe if there where 2 nsfw instances, it would be better for users and content, but no one willing to setup one.
Do we need to make our favorite communities again?
Can a list of all communities be generated, so we can check and contribute?
I don’t think bulk creating communities is a good thing. A heap of empty communities is like a ghost town. Ideally there should be a post to a community immediately when it is created, setting the tone and making it live.
Who said anything about bulk creating communities?
