Piefed’s own @klu9@piefed.social is organizing a Watch Party this Sunday over on Mastodon: “Planet of the Vampires.” I haven’t seen it, and apparently the creatures are more like zombies than vampires, but… but… according to the movie title they identify as vampires? Anyway, supposedly it’s a pretty good scifi/horror movie (for a B- / Cult- movie, I assume, it ain’t a big budget Hollywood thing…) and it apparently inspired Alien, Prometheus, Mission to Mars, and a couple others.

Pre Internet this was a legendary film for me. I saw it on a creature feature, then years later saw Alien. I didn’t remember the name especially because it had no vampires. So I’d talk to my friends about this movie where they find a spaceship that was piloted by ancient giants like Alien.
