Normally, you have to go into different tabs to toggle Wifi, Bluetooth, change volume and so on. This puts things in one place.
Is anyone else interested in this or does an existing project already do this? It needs to make changes to Lomiri so I think that means installing through the open store wouldn’t work.

Oh, that improves the UI quite a lot. I’ve been following UBPorts deleopment closely since 2015 and used UBPorts for a while, but that status bar thing was always one of the things that annoyed me most.

Just an FYI, PostmarketOS has some desktop apps in the alpine linux repos, and it supports flatpak apps as well. Only issue is PostmarketOS uses the Linux kernel instead of android Kernel like Ubuntu Touch does, so the hardware support to get a working phone is still lacking. Right now VoLTE is still not working fully, and cameras are not fully supported.
Ubuntu Touch also uses an Linux kernel, just a really old one that has been patched to death by the SoC manufacturer which made it completely impossible to maintain the fork. Android itself uses those kernels. What I really want to see is a manufacturer launching a phone with full mainline kernel support. I’m sure I’d buy one in an instant just to get an up-to-date Linux kernel in combination with all components working instead of the ugly insecure mess you usually get from day one and which soon no longer receives updates.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m reusing SliderMenu from Lomiri for the sliders and there seems to be some inherent limit on how much spacing I can remove. Or I haven’t been looking in the right places.
