West Virginia University spent $3 million standing up a brand-new “anti-woke” academic center — the Washington Center for Civics, Culture and Statesmanship. This fall, when the doors opened for its first semester, exactly one student was enrolled.
The center wasn’t the university’s idea — it was mandated by House Bill 3297, with Governor Patrick Morrisey handpicking the director to “push back on the woke ideology that has infected our schools.”
They said they wanted the free market of ideas to decide. It did. It said no thanks.
