I haven’t followed all the legislation, but AFAIK, Mamdani didn’t even actually NEED to do the wealth tax yet. He’s done all of these good things just by properly allocating the money and resources the city already had. Which means ANY of the previous mayors could’ve also done this at ANY time. Which is extra damning for those assholes - they just actively decided to be cruel and withhold the services of government as a punitive measure against not being rich.

Even if this were true, it beats starving while they still exist.
