Hey I’m a Pakistani Muslim whose entire family doesn’t believe that stuff. In fact every single woman in my extended family has advanced degrees and are prominent members of society. My mother is a doctor who was our primary breadwinner for most of my life.
I know it’s easy to just believe the caricatures you see in the news, but Pakistanis and Muslims are a very diverse group of people. Feminists exist in all societies. Marital Rape wasn’t that uncommon in Western traditions until recently. This is an ongoing challenge but to just blame the entirety of Islam is ignorant and lacks nuance. There’s tons of Muslims (the women mentioned in the article for example) who don’t support this stuff.
I learned in life to never ever discuss with religious people, but…
Just because you might be nice, doesn’t make Islam nice. You still are part of it and silently accept it. I mean come on, your prophet was a pedo. If I’d only be a Nazi because I like the uniforms, I still am part of it and am advocating for them by acceptance.
Also, just because marital rape was also common in non-muslims doesn’t make it better. Here it was outlawed 50yrs ago. Still sad, but the cause was also religion. If someone needs to tell you that raping the woman, that they claim, you’d love, is wrong. They’re just a piece of shit.
If YOU don’t do all this and are the nicest and friendliest Muslim that ever lived, does change nothing. You’re a member of the excuse for so much injustice, marital rape (slavery), killings and whatnot. You can condemn it all you want, you’re still advocating it.
Also, if your family is so highly educated, you should know islam is (like most religions) just a political tool for control of the dumb masses and also conquering.
And it’s pure heaven for pedos and people that no woman ever would touch freely because they’re disgusting inside.
