Found shorts of her on the internet where she does JoJo poses and they’re FANTASTIC! I immediately needed to paint them. The first pose is very much her, we’ll see what I do with the dozen or more other poses I saved.

I’ve seen her shorts doing the poses and she looks bad ass but I have no idea who or what Jojo is.
She certainly is a bad ass!
And JoJo is a comic. I’ve looked at the art since being introduced to it on Lemmy a few years back but I’ve never read one. The art is next level IMO!
Finding a path in my art style that can take a step towards the art in that series is an opportunity I can’t pass up!
Oh, wow. She can do a human archery bow 😉. Nice work. I like the calm pastell tones.
Lol I wonder if anyone has tried that with her? Might be possible.
And thank you!
Incredible! She is a gorgeous woman and an unbelievable athlete. I had never heard of her until I saw your painting of her just now.
Thanks for sharing and really well done!
You’re welcome!
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen her perform based on where she’s competed but I had no clue until the shorts.
I love a well drawn and well rendered shoe. I find it so sexy in part because it’s hard to get right. Great piece over all just a little off hand comment on shoes XD
Wow, thank you!
I considered changing her from reference and making her barefoot, glad I didn’t for two reasons! The balance of the image and at least one shoe appreciater!
Of course, the whole pose would change without the heel support, (not that attempting an imaginative anatomy study is wrong, on the contrary) for this kinda pose i’d look at ballet dancers for reference. Also foot anatomy is probably the hardest to get, but you know… There’s money on that, it pays to git gud. XD
Yes it does! And I very much decided to paint the shoes because it was easier to follow the reference than stray that much.
I know this was based off a person and this might not be appropriate for this painting. But this painting needs less clothes. Think it would sell as an ‘art’ piece.
I wouldn’t consider painting a real person with less clothes without their consent. And since I would never ask it’ll never happen.
There are plenty of painting sessions where people take their clothes off and I do paint them that way. None of them try posses like this. I imagine balancing like this for several minutes would be prohibitive.
