Popular mechanics still had those cheesy/scammy mail in ads when I read it in the 90s.

I always wanted to build the hovercraft you could supposedly build with old vacuum cleaners, but in my heart I knew it either wouldn’t work or would be super expensive for a kid.

I wonder if some YouTuber has tried building from those scammy old plans…
