Is this really appropriate for this post? If a trans woman makes a post about having severe dysphoria about say, facial hair, and someone comes in and says, “well I’m a trans woman and I LOVE facial hair!” That kind of thing just seems really problematic to me.

Like what you like. No wrong way to be trans. But there’s a time and a place. When someone clearly feels a discomfort about a part of their body, it feels tone deaf to come into their post and say, “I don’t have that problem, I love (feature X!)” Perfectly valid of you to like what you like, but this doesn’t feel like the right place to do it. Maybe make a gock celebration post if that’s what you want to do. But in a post like this? It feels like rubbing their pain in their face.

People are allowed to have or not have dysphoria about body parts. We shouldn’t shame trans women who want to keep their factory equipment. But we also shouldn’t be gockposting in places it really isn’t appropriate. Someone should be able to make a post expressing discomfort or dysphoria about their body without having multiple people jump in saying, “well I DON’T have that issue.” That’s fine if you don’t have dysphoria about an issue. No need to come in and point out how you’re not bothered by other people’s troubles.
