I have had conversations like this where people point to the ability of the reef to “recover” as evidence that everything’s fine. When you try to point out things like it’s the fast-growing, vulnerable coral that returns first, or that mass bleaching events are increasing, they accuse you of “twisting” a good news story into doom-and-gloom.
