Magic Mountain's fan-favorite extreme coaster X2 has been quietly closed since July after two riders had similar accidents and a new report uncovered a history of injuries.
Can confirm in X2 there’s a nasty head bump near the end of the ride (ca. June 2026) that can catch you if unprepared, didn’t remember it from previous seasons, probably needs extensive maintenance. Nowhere near rough enough to cause issues unless you had a previous condition.
How can a rider that’s riding it for the first time possibly be anything other than unprepared for that?
One of the people in a coma is a kid (age unspecified), so if there’s kids being injured and 70+ other cases of injury identified in their records, chances are it definitely is rough enough to cause issues even in people without a “previous condition” (previous condition: intact blood vessels in brain?).
If the park knew of previous grievous injuries and did nothing to remediate future ones, they’re likely liable - especially if they did not publicise the known risks clearly to future riders.
Fair enough, I must have misread because for me it reads like the ride isn’t anything unusual and the victims are somehow riding it wrong or ignoring advisories and riding in ill health.

Not defending six flags here, for sure they should have taken action, no idea how long it was in that state
