31st of May 2025, I spent $500 on upgrading to a 7800x3d, which was the cost of the CPU and motherboard. The RAM was just thrown in with the motherboard (X870 AYM Gaming, not like it didn’t make me buy an expensive board to get it, but still). That 32 GB 6000 CL36 RAM is now $500 just on its own.
I don’t think I could have possibly gotten luckier on the timing of that purchase
