The decision will likely be appealed by Republican state leaders to the US Supreme Court.
Just a reminder, the Republicans don’t have to win ANY of their voter suppression measures they are attempting to implement. The goal with all of this gerrymandering and voter suppression is to fuck shit up. Literally.
The goal is to create enough confusion and doubt in the election that the Democratic party caves in and deals with the unfair election results in order to maintain faith in the democratic process.
There will be some resistance and some small fights won in the aftermath of this election to maintain the illusion that the process of checks and balances are working. THEY ARE NOT.
This exact obsession with maintaining order and maintaining process is the only meaningful role the Democratic party is playing right now. And it’s playing this role to the benefit of the fascist in power.
There is no democratic process. There is no fight being won. And the longer we have an opposition party that is unwilling to admit this the worse things will get before they are inevitably removed and many arrested as “communist”. That is where we are heading.
They are not stuck without power or majority. They are unwilling to stand up and risk their position of power.
The blue states and cities should be outright banning ICE. They should outright not be requiring federal tax returns. And the federal representatives should be calling for these levels of resistance every chance they speak.
We are far past the point at which we should be pretending that “following the process” will stop this administration. They aren’t following the process. They are wasting our time with the process that they have no intention to respect. It’s way past time we stopped following the rules that they stopped following long ago.

Although true, for most of them to be effective, they at least have to be implemented in the first place, and for so many of them to keep getting held up in court or being stopped altogether, that might not work out very well for them. And I know that’s why they keep doing so much all at once, hoping at least some of it will work out, but, again, all of that mass confusion is probably going to work out as a lot of GOP and independent voters who might have voted for Republicans just not showing up for the polls at all, while the Democrats work even harder to make sure their vote gets counted— as pest trends have always shown that such attempts push each party’s voters to do.
