Except that it didn’t work. We have more guns now than before Port Arthur.

That article shows more guns but less gun owners. I think that’s probably a win overall from the perspective of preventing deaths.
It doesn’t mention gun related deaths at all so maybe that doesn’t support their position.
Interesting, I’d never considered looking at deaths, since more guns seemed like a bad idea for society overall.
Turns out that deaths have reduced significantly, while gun theft seems to have increased. Also:
Firearms remain the third most common cause of domestic family deaths.
One of the only good things Howard’s government did. Credit where credit’s due.
