Ukraine, fighting for survival, is doing the right thing because it has nothing else to lose. The imperialist U.S. looks at everything as a business

It’s kinda amusing. So Trump (the alleged badsss), goes to the VASTLY SMALLER COUNTRY being INVADED to beg them to stop beating the piss out of the VASTLY LARGER COUNTRY. Instead of…oh I don’t know, telling the bigger country to fuck off and give up.

What’s funny is how Trump doesn’t have to tell either to fuck off. The smart person would just play sides and see who’s likely to come out on top, then create advantages in that space. You know AMERICA FIRST. Not Putin not Trump but the country jockeying for best position.

Instead he just fucks up everything with zero no how, 100% selfishness and 10x asshole energy, all in proper Republican fashion.

Hell yeah, drive up the price of oil until trump’s self-centered pea brain understands that if he doesn’t make a proper effort to end the war then it’ll affect his political scam of a career.

They’re not doing anywhere near as good a job of driving up the price of oil as Trump is.

Russia “respects” ceasefires only as long as it suits them (until they regroup) anyway

Europe should be included in the peace talks with the US and Russia. Trump cannot be trusted to act in Ukraine’s best interests.

Could be worse, though. At least he can’t be trusted to act against Ukraine’s best interests. Close call on that one, though.

There is literally nothing Trump can do to stop Ukraine at this point. Since they refused to give them supplies Ukraine has had to build their own stuff and rely on other means to fight, at this point they don’t really need anything from the USA to fight so they are free to do so.

I mean, you can only kidnap people off the street to die on the frontline for so long until the country collapses completely.

“Things wouldn’t be so bad if they just stopped resisting. Why don’t they? They don’t want to fight, statistically.”

I’m amazed at how often the “rapist argument” pops up on Lemmy, in respect to Ukraine.

Yeah, maybe their civilian population is sick of war, and they don’t want to be drafted. And maybe Ukraine should make their own decisions/have their sovereignty respected. But, you know, disrespecting their sovereignty is the whole reason this is happening.

So even if you are unquestionably right, what the heck does it matter? Russia doesn’t care what Ukraine thinks, nor anything about their sovereignty and decision making power, otherwise they wouldn’t have launched a massive military invasion Ukraine clearly did not consent to.

War is hell. Too much suffering affect people rational thinking and the majority lose the will to fight.

                  No source?

And yeah it’s a huge ecological disaster, almost as bad as what the Americans did to those oil tankers in Iran!
