And the thing is, they’re both just fine in moderation. But the first two seasons of SNW were so good and the last two have been almost all comedy gimmicks. I was happy to see a badmiral episode this season instead of “Star Trek but [gimmick].” And it was a pretty by-the-numbers badmiral episode.
And Disco and Picard were continuing storylines, so if they decided to have a long stupid trudge through the mirror universe, the audience that didn’t leave were stuck with it for a whole season.
Careful what you wish for, or you’ll get nothing but wacky gimmicks.
It’s like the NuTrek writers have just two modes:
Mode 1: “I’m 13 and this is deep”.
Mode 2: Star Trek, but you only know it through the memes.
