I haven’t had it happen to a phone in a long time (though it did happen to the LG phone I had like two phones ago).
I’ve had it happen to another device that charges with USB-C (Focus V Carta 2). To the point where I had to buy a wireless charger (that itself needs to charge with USB-C so I have to make sure not to do it again) built specifically for the device and it’s the only way I can charge the device now.
Amazing device though. I’ve had it for like 6 years now and that’s the only part that stopped working. I haven’t inhaled combusted plant matter since.
Im sure the device is end of life after 6 years anyways, so that sounds about right. I personally havent ever had a usb-c port fail, but ive only been using iphones and pixels. Good workaround with the wireless charging though.
I mean I’m sure they exist, but I haven’t connected the thing to a PC to update it since I got it. I think I had to do it once. There’s an app, but it’s totally optional so I don’t use it. I’m probably way behind on firmware updates if I’m being honest.
But it’s a cannabis vaporizer. As long as it’s doing the thing it’s meant to do, I see no need to change anything.
Oh i see. Sorry. What I meant by “end of life” was when a manufacturer stops pushing software updates to it, either because they are no longer want to allocate an employee to take care of it, or they’ve decided its not possible to secure it anymore. For phones, that usually occurs after 3-7 years, depending on the manufacturer.
Oh yeah, I dunno if they’re still supporting it in that way. I’m pretty sure they’ve released a new version of the product within the last few years so they might have stopped putting out firmware updates for the one I have. No idea honestly.

No the device works great, the port failed like 3 years ago.
The glass part is meant to be replaced and I’ve gone through a few but they’re like $30-40. The rest of the device still works just fine.
