So I’ve had this friend that used to tell me he was a leftist. I thought because of that I could radicalize him to become an ML, but fuck me turns out he’s so much worse than I anticipated. He isn’t even a radlib, just a full on liberal.
Me and another ML friend of mine were having a talk with him and we got on the topic of Trump being incompetent as fuck, specifically about something having to do with Iran, to which I said something to the effect of “These sort of losses were inevitable anyways, the Trump admin’s absolute max level idiocy only accelerates it.” He, naturally, disagreed because Trump is the evil bad guy that causes every problem in the world for liberals. The conversation bounced back and forth for a second and somehow the topic shifted to a the recent claim China was stealing US planes from Hong Kong. I said they don’t really need to steal any tech from the US and they already have a gen 6 fighter anyways. He challenged the claim they had one and eventually it got into topics about a war (since liberals can’t help but think about butchering millions every opportunity they can get). I told him the US, in its modern form, would suffer horrible supply shocks and likely lose a war in China. That set him fucking OFF. He was rambling completely mad and delusional. Highlights include:
- The US Navy is better because (he doesn’t really have a stated reason for this beyond mentions of carrier numbers)
- China would stop building ships because in the event of a war they wouldn’t be able to export stuff, and they need to export stuff to build ships
- Solar power won’t make that much of a difference
- The US produces enough oil on its own that it would be fine, military consumes 200,000 per day and we produce 13,000,000 per day
- US has more nuclear submarines and thus would win
- The Pentagon said the US would win
- The US controls Venezuela now and thus would be able to erect trillions of dollars of oil infrastructure at the moment’s notice of a war in order to recoup what oil it may lose out on in Asia.
- It means nothing that the Pentagon said it would lose war games against China.
I tried to spin away from the topic of war itself and instead spoke specifically about supply shocks the US would experience, namely oil. I explained that the US wants to crush Iran to gain control of the Strait of Hormuz so that it can further exercise control over China because it is threatened by the geopolitical aims of the Belt and Road Initiative (also communism but by this point I had figured out he’s a leftist by KKK rally standards). Specifically in weaning the third world off the West. If I thought the previous delusion was bad, his Winter Soldier genes activated once I said the words “Belt and Road” (which I never even claimed was good or bad btw). On some level he had probably realized the position on who would win a war is completely divorced from reality as he started walking back many of his more extreme statements during the conversation, and this was probably a good out for him. He completely blew up the conversation by obsessively asking whether or not me and my other friend think the B&R initiative is a bad thing or a good thing and started spreading some bullshit about China debt trapping the third world. Also USAID is actually good btw. I wasn’t gonna sit there and have to show him that whatever sources he would send are inevitably linked to the NED or some other CIA front, so I redirected the conversation again away from moralism and it petered out from there.
Liberals are genuinely rabid.
He, naturally, disagreed because Trump is the evil bad guy that causes every problem in the world for liberals.
7. he US controls Venezuela now and thus would be able to erect trillions of dollars of oil infrastructure at the moment’s notice of a war
Wait a minute…
Simultaneously Trump is causing all the US’s problems while also being the sole reason they win this hypothetical war he’s proposing. I didn’t even catch that when he was yapping lmao that’s hilarious.
It’s much more convincing to start out with “I believe that might does not make right, that no one has the right to categorical superiority over anyone else, and that everyone has the right to life and self-determination along with all the things that make those two possible”. Listen to them agree with you. Then take a few short steps toward the logical conclusion of all of these, which is anti-imperialism, anti-racism, anti-capitalism, and inclusive humanism… i.e. socialism. And watch them squirm more visibly the closer you get.
I mean, honestly, that was kind of how we started off. Before he had mentioned the ebil seeseepee stealing planes, because we were talking about the Iran war we had spoken about the oil crises and how that linked to manufacturing. I can’t remember exactly how it was mentioned, but we got on the topic of plane manufacturing and I had mentioned how we are not shipping planes with advanced radar anymore because we no longer have rare earth minerals to do so. I had said it was a good thing, and he had asked how it could possibly be a good thing, to which I replied that it was restricting the US’s ability to go to war and continue the senseless slaughter. Probably could’ve moved the conversation backwards and kept pushing him on that but then he would just beg for sources as to why China isn’t actually debt trapping Africa and I’m not gonna get in a five hour mud slinging match over me citing leftists and him citing the CIA at like 1a.m.
I appreciate your efforts very much, comrade. These are conversations that I’m just not able to have anymore. It’s entirely too exhausting, disheartening, and almost always results in lingering resentment or animosity, so I just don’t engage anymore.
I know it’s a bit defeatist, but I just don’t have the mental energy or fortitude to hold these convos that inevitably turn into debates. I try my best to voice my opinions about a situation in the most non-threatening way possible. I don’t want to prove their perspectives wrong as much as I just want them to hear my perspective.
Whittling away at the liberalism a little bit at a time has ended up with a bunch of “told you” moments. Even then I try not to express it like “I told you so”, I just let them come to me and repeat what I said 3 years as if it were their idea.
But again, I see and appreciate the efforts you and other comrades do make to do more direct engagement with libs.
Edit: Spelling
Thank you comrade, it honestly feels like the least I can do. I am not currently able to physically organize due to some circumstances in my life, and honestly there are times where I want to throw all caution to the wind and find myself acting in some way against all this, but I am too cowardly to do it in my current state.
If I can do at least this, at least open the eyes of a few more people around me, then I will take that responsibility gladly. I will whittle away until my fingers bleed, and then I will keep whittling.
I hope you can find strength in your mental energy again some day.
i’m in a similar situation where my bestest friend is a protestant christian who is conservative if we didnt trauma bond in high school i dont think we would like each other
I’ve been around a lot of conservatives in my time due to living in a very conservative area. Some of the people closest to me growing up I’m now finding are basically a uniform and a mustache away from a Hitler. One of my closest friends recently took the ‘blackpill’ and burnt a bridge to the ground with a mutual friend of ours he was seeing on and off. I’m lucky me and another friend radicalized at the same time by feeding off of each other’s radicalization. Being a Nazi basically grazed me lmao.
I also grew up in a conservative environment and made a lot of my friends in the Boy Scouts. Most of the parents were military or in police and many of my friends became Marines and two of those in the miliary would later became cops. I am not in contact with them, so I do not know how they changed, but most seem to still be generic conservatives.

I’ve basically shut down talking politics to my parents. They got on Xitter and became Hitlers, and they were always anti-communist because gusano gonna gusano. However my dad used to jive more with Malcom X type politics and even wore some quite radical statements on his clothes during the BLM protests. As for my friends, I try to talk about politics more with those who might have a more neutral view to communism. Maybe it’ll convince them, idk.
So what are his domestic economic views? Sounds like a NATO-leftist. I’ve met a lot like this and this kind of response with China or whatever bad country usually tracks. Decent on domestic issues and awful on international.
He is a NATO-Leftist, I’ve met a few of these types. I don’t know his exact views honestly. I remember some time ago him mentioning that he wanted to ‘see how Zohran’s plans work’ for NYC. I think he liked AOCIA and Bernie, but then I gave him basically undeniable proof that they were Zionists (he didn’t even know Bernie was Jewish) and I don’t really know how he feels about it now. In favor of an armed working class and fetishizes the Nordic Model.

Some people are unchangable
if i was you i would’ve just cracked his skull open n eaten all the yummy protein inside, he clearly doesn’t need it!
Eating a liberal brain might give you a prion disease. Since he’s not using it, I’d prefer it be used as fertilizer or something of the sort.
This the kinda goated post that would wind up on an out of context msm clip lmfao
I’ll see you all at my deposition for domestic terrorism when the feds link me to this account lmao
As for me, what gets me about libs isn’t them claiming the US would win, it’s them cheerleading for the US. I would certainly accept the possibility that the US may win, the conclusion being that China needs to put in more elbow grease to ensure that doesn’t happen. The US has successfully overthrown countless proletarian governments for centuries beneath the greatest veil of secrecy. We cannot assume they will lose, we must ensure it.
If China was barely able to eke out a victory against the United States, I would still support them, one of the reasons being the Epstein files.
That’s also what gets me. I’m not gonna pretend like a state is gonna win a war just because I want it to, I’m gonna look at practical material reasons why they would win. China currently has many boons over the US, especially considering the US has been in a pretty steep decline for at least the last 20 years and hasn’t had a success against an actual organized military force in some time (W Ansarallah). China is ahead in the majority of critical tech sectors, has massive manufacturing capabilities, and it’s entire military strategy basically directly counters the US’s military strategy (hypersonic missiles that we know the US struggles to intercept with effective strike ranges wider than that of airforce carriers, which are the US’s main force projector). Add to that the fact that sanctions from China would grind the US economy to a halt, 6th Gen Fighter capabilities, China being energy independent, and China being close to unveiling a more advanced version of a B-2A Bomber and to me, a land invasion of China in a military conflict seems nearly impossible to succeed, and any form of sanctioning would harm the US more than it would harm China.
Liberals simply don’t see it that way. They insist that all the Chinese tech must be less advanced. It must not be as good. It must be outdated because it isn’t American tech. The same way Russia’s military, the world’s largest nuclear power and one of the strongest militaries in the world, must be entirely made of archaic Soviet era technology. They will say anything, no matter how irrational, so that in their minds the US remains the strongest power. This guy genuinely thought the modern USA was capable of going into a full wartime economy and it wouldn’t collapse even with China shutting off the export tap. He just needs to believe, for some part of his own sanity, that Daddy America has it all figured out. It’s asinine.
Then he has the gall to say “Third world exploitation is bad when both China and the US do it!” Christ.
