These are tiny homes in Texas. Young people love them. Parking has become an issue though

    • are they living directly under a bunch of power lines?
    • too close together
    • looks both mass produced and cobbled together
    • weird house numbers
    • the truck seems to be labeled in some non-Latin alphabet

I guess the latter points to LLMs…

Did some sleuthing, came up with these:
    https://www.bizjournals.com/sanantonio/news/2024/02/13/lennar-builder-tiny-home-elm-trails-sales-success.html
    https://www.bizjournals.com/sanantonio/news/2023/04/19/lennar-tiny-homes-100-k-east-side-elm-trails.html

Who stole the pic from the last article and put a truck in it while also messing up the house numbers?

If they used AI to jam the truck in it probably mangled the house numbers at the same time.

Well spotted, but this kinda scene wouldn’t suprise me.

Holy shit wtf they live in actual hell

Interestingly it looks like there is still something weird with the OP’s picture though. The house numbers for one, and the crosswalk looks different. Could be differences from construction to now but it seems a bit odd.

You watch this surreal movie and realize it’s inspired by actual, real, American suburban neighborhoods.

BTW this is not a commercialised response to tiny houses being hip, this is a response to the housing crisis. Or maybe the two are connected. Anyhow I see tiny houses as a DIY movement, and something that enables you to live on the other side of urban boundaries, and this here is obviously neither.

Dammit, I didn’t see your links and found them myself and was coming back to post them. But I have this at least: https://archive.ph/eLAIK

So yep, this is someone “having fun” with the idea either to be funny or to make some sort of point.

The pickup? Why, that’s a Ford F350 H3X Powerstroke, heavy on the stroke!

Ford F250/F350 body (illegible fender badge). H3 of Hummer + X of Toyota PRO-4X = H3X (Ford FX4 package also has a red X though). Illegible “Powerstroke” on door (their diesel brand name, gas does not get a badge).

“Yeah, AI knows everything. It definitely knows precisely how big a Ferd Fiftyhundred would look at these houses”. Good catch. Anything but the metric system.
