The Anglo-French system must end once and forever.

Burkina Faso President Ibrahim Traore has issued a stark warning to foreign spies and those accused of treason, saying his government will impose the death penalty if spies are caught operating in the country. Speaking in Ouagadougou, Traore accused foreign diplomatic missions of providing cover for intelligence operatives and said Burkina Faso would no longer tolerate such activity. He also warned alleged domestic agents of foreign powers that there would be “no mercy” for treason. Traore specifically referred to France, saying Burkina Faso had recently expelled suspected spies and had decided to break ties with countries it believes are interfering in its affairs. The comments reflect the sharp deterioration in relations between Burkina Faso and France under Traore’s government, which has moved to reduce Western influence while asserting greater control over the country’s security and foreign policy.
