He ran on not skill, competence, and education, but “who do you want your drinking buddy to be?” Literally. If you were around when he ran the unofficial question was “who would you rather have a beer with?” Hence the news paying attention to Obama’s occasional beer, and Obama having a drink with whomever.

And for those who believe the Democrats are going to swoop in and save us, I point to Obama who did nothing of the sort and spent 8 years just kind of being an additional 2 bush terms.
