    TINY DESK! 🤦🏻‍♂️

It’s easy to imagine how they will jump the shark in the future. Look at enshittification.

How about them being so selective with who they pick that they don’t choose any good music in the future but instead choose Taylor Swift and other acts that are so mainstream that it’s like watching the Grammy’s? That’s easy to imagine. It’ll happen and we won’t be able to find new, obscure, amazing acts like Khruangbin through their show because that’s exactly how this type of thing happens.

Tiny desk has had very big names on before and managed to not jump the shark. Lizzo, Moby, The Cranberries, and a lot more. The fortunate thing is that the chance for enshittification is pretty low since it is publically funded. It is possible when Bob Boilen moves on it could take a turn, but the people below him seem to be pretty passionate about the same mission.

I get it. They had Adele near the beginning.

Still, IMO things that successful have a tendency to veer toward enthittification on a long enough timeline.

Sure, but things from NPR are especially resilient to that thanks to the public broadcast model. Tiny Desk is also particularly sheltered from jumping the shark thanks to the curators that fully understand what they have. Not saying it is impossible, but it is in a pretty good spot on both fronts

          1. From the way you use the word, it’s clear you don’t know what enshittification means
          2. You sound like the kind of person who dislikes anything that’s too popular. Chill

From the way that you reply to and insult a random stranger engaged in lighthearted conversation with someone else about something that doesn’t even matter I can tell that you’re a crappy unhappy person that gets off on being right with people who aren’t even disagreeing with you.
