I’m done, I’ve been banned for expressing a different opinion (without insulting or personally attacking anyone), I’ve been accused of evading a ban with multiple accounts (this is my only account I’ve ever had on any lemmy instance), I’ve had people selectively ignore my comments and accuse me of things which I never said, and I’ve had people ignore valid criticisms and keep attacking me.

Reddit has many issues with trolls, one-sided discussion, and just general bullshit, but many Lemmy instances are way worse. The newfound freedom of Lemmy has attracted many extremists, from both sides, and many of them are moderators, who are more than happy to remove any contrarian opinions. This results in discussions being echo chambers

Moderates dominate the Democrat party. They undermine, sabotage and outright fight progressive and leftist efforts at every opportunity. Then they get big mad when progressives and leftists say they’ve had enough and won’t show up in the general election. Moderates believe anything they do in politics is fair game but the moment leftists and progressives fight back they try to act like we’re one big family. It’s gaslighting bullshit.

Don’t conflict these idiots with the entire left wing of the party. They are not representative, just loud.

And yet, despite being a minor part of a minor wing moderates and people like you will place Biden’s loss squarely on our shoulders. Surely you see the ridiculousness there yes? The moderates as a majority voting block assume none of the responsibility when a candidate they chose in the primaries loses.

If they do, then they will be full of shit. Am I supposed to use that as an excuse to act like an idiot?

If you have change that you want to see in this country (as you should) then it’s on you to get organized and build support. You don’t get change by driving people away, which is exactly what your kind of toxic politics does.

Look what happened to the far right. They got exactly what they wanted on abortion, and now they are fucked. Instead of doing the hard work of building grass roots support, they went the authoritarian route. Republicans haven’t had a good cycle ever since, with the far right doing even worse.

Where are your candidates, where were they 9 months ago, a year ago? If you show up through a tantrum and don’t do any groundwork what do you expect to happen? You are either a useful idiot, a conservative shill, or an accelerationist.

Why are you deflecting so hard away from a conversation about compromising with leftists and progressives? Is it because you know moderates are intentionally undermining, sabotaging and outright fighting progressives and leftists at every opportunity? Here’s a superb opportunity for moderates to demonstrate their willingness to work with us on policy. If they won’t do it now when democracy is at stake they will never do it.
