This is an exploration of the Supreme Court decisions underlining its affirmation of the war on drugs and modern mass incarceration. I made this, and drew heavily on the book The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander, which I heartily recommend for anyone interested in learning more about the legal background and historical context of this issue. FWIW, if you create a link post but include an inline image, the default view will use the first inline image in your post as the thumbnail.

You can insert an image and upload it to lemmy.world with the little picture icon in the toolbar above your post’s text box, which literally uploads it to the server from whence it cannot be deleted, except in a narrow window of time immediately after upload (not post). So don’t upload anything you don’t want to theoretically be posted to the internet forever.

Or you can host the image somewhere else, like imgur or whatever, and insert it inline with this syntax:

    ![](url)

This is the same syntax as a link, but the url you put in is the path to the image including the whole http-colon-slash-slash part, and you leave the brackets empty.
