Agreed, it depends on the screen type.

do you wait until your eyes reach the button to scroll or do you just constantly nudge the page up to keep your eyes in the middle?

Depends on the device. If it’s a phone I usually scroll as I read. If it’s a tablet I usually read to the bottom then scroll the whole page.
