Hey everyone!

I’m a student always bouncing between two locations. I’ve got decent internet at both spots and I’m planning to set up a self-hosted server I can tap into remotely (but I still want to access it on a home network so I need a portable server).

I’m looking to run apps like Nextcloud, Jellyfin, Sonarr, Radarr, productivity apps like Obsidian, Pi-hole, bitwarden,…

So, about that hardware: I’ve been considering the GTR6 as my go-to mini-PC. Given that my budget is around 500€, are there better options I should be looking into ? I need something small that can very easily fit in a bag.

As for the OS, I’m leaning towards “Runtipi.” I want this setup to be plug-and-play each time I move. If there’s anything better, I’m confident to install it.

Got any hardware recommendations or other tips ? I’d love to hear what you think!
