When does the survey happen? I can’t recall ever being asked
@makingStuffForFun @tobbue they choose a small number of people at random i guess. I’ve gotten it twice in six years I think.
My last survey was in November.
But yes: Selection is random. And since Linux users still make a small perecentage of Steam users it can make a huge difference when the randomizer selects fewwer Linux gamers.
I got it on my steam deck and a few days later on my Arch Linux PC.
But last year, I think I never got it last year.

Bazzite shit the bed when I tried it, regular people would need to get lucky with their hardware configuration.

7900XTX back in January. I didn’t see any error, it would just boot to a black screen. I tried the install several times and I’ve been distro hopping for decades, so I don’t think it’s a simple pebcak.

Bazzite has a thing about dual boots if you were trying that.
