In the gang, my fave is Dennis - he’s so vain and manipulative. I also like Mac when he’s in denial about being gay - I found that arc so funny.
My faves outside of the gang (I realize I’m naming a lot lol) are Uncle Jack, Artemis, Cricket, Z, and the lawyer that hates the gang
The Jew lawyer is my favorite returning side character, and the boat salesman is the best one-off character.
“It seems like what you guys are looking for is some P Diddy style shrimping vessel?”
I love that bit with the boat salesman. Mac: (something like) “I didn’t think you’d be such a good listener on account of the pinky ring” lol
Same. He’s hilarious.
Artemis.
And an honorable mention to Gladys. The Nightman Cometh shush scene is gold.
The bums under the peer in the jersey shore episode
That’s not magic.
Charlie and Da Maniac are my two faves. I am sure there are others, but Da Maniac is always my go to when asked this.
Da Maniac, good call! I couldn’t place the character at first, was thinking Psycho Pete and then thought “a favourite?!”, and then searched the name. I love the boys’ realization that Da Maniac has more baggage than they first thought when they idolized him in the ring

And that’s why da maniac loves you boys.
How can you have faves outside the gang and not even mention Pondy? He’s the coolest.
Pondy was an honourable mention for me. I know too many people like Pondy irl which makes him a little less funny but he is funny (and the coolest, as you mentioned)
Artemis. She’s her own level of crazy and confident that the antics of the gang which usually ruin the lives of all those encounter just bounce off her.
Totally agree and very well put! I especially like when Artemis foils Dee’s desire to look like a classy group of girlfriends. “Don’t talk about your bleached anus!”

Those mafia guys are funny! I learned what a pompadour (men’s haircut) was from them

In the gang: Frak. Ah, dammit, “Frank”.
Out of the gang: Artemis or the McPoyles. Jimmy Simpson is always hilarious, “You will call her!” (And when Ryan takes off his “disguise” at the wedding.)
Good call on the McPoyles! They’re hilariously icky
