Hello,

I pay for gigabit service from Cox, but I don’t come anywhere close to that speed through wi-fi. I usually hover around 150-200 Mbps. Is this a typical wi-fi speed?

My house only has two coaxial cable ports, so I’m limited where I can put the modem, and the ports aren’t in convenient spots either, so I’m reliant on wi-fi.

I’m considering having ethernet wall ports installed in a few rooms, but would I see a noticeable difference, or would I be wasting my money? I could buy a 50+ foot ethernet cable to run from the modem to do another room for testing, but the idea of having long messy cables on the floor doesn’t sound very appealing…

Any suggestions or input? Thank you!
