We had FIOS installed 15 years ago. The technician ran a coax connection into the house. The router is a 100Mb Actiontec MI424WR.
About five years ago I put an Archer C7 1000Mb router in the front of the house for it’s WiFi capabilities.
I am just about finished installing a TP-Link Omada controller and three EAP610 access points. I want to replace the Actiontec with the Archer as my main internet router (I will turn off its WiFi radio).
Here’s the rub: The Archer only has an ethernet WAN port, no coax. Running an ethernet cable from the Frontier box outside the house would be difficult so I am looking at a MoCA 2.5 adapter as a possible cost-effective solution.
Will it work? Would there be a performance hit?
TIA!
