I’ve been working through Baten Kaitos, I just passed the half-way point, I think.
The game starts out with almost infinite promise, as there are so many weird sub systems coming together in its card based battle system. However, by now, there are some cracks showing.
You can play more and more cards per turn, with less and less time out of an ever increasing card pool. You basically don’t have time to think about stuff like crafting - which is totally a thing during combat by playing certain combos - and can’t afford to play useless cards. Well, you could, but battles are slow enough already with decks focused on damage.
This month, I’ve likely got a bit more time on my hands and will finish the game, work through a few demos I collected and then continue on to Baten Kaitos Origin. Assuming I’m not burned out on the series.
