    That doesn’t sound like a great idea, but apartments are all built to fire resistance standards, so as long as the builders and building inspectors did their job, and your building was built this century, you should be safe, at least until the firies do a walk through and tell you to get out. In hindsight, flying out as quickly as I did was probably a bad idea. If there was a fire and it was in front of my door I’d’ve been pretty screwed since I was out the door before the door was even properly open.

    Also I ran down the stairs, and I’d just polished off a nice big bowl of ice cream so I’m not feeling too great now

      They should be built to fire standards, but the whole combustible cladding problem shows that’s not always the case.
