In an environment where old men cling to every drop of power and control they can get, I’m super proud of Biden for putting his ego aside and doing what’s best for the country he loves

Right? I was going to vote for him, but I’m very glad he dropped out. He’s being the big man here and doing what’s good for everyone.

I really want to feel this way but i just can’t get over the fact that “slightly less selfish than staying in” is where we’re at. Dropping out in July of 2024 feels like a bungle of epic proportions but i hope with everything i have I’m massively wrong, there’s a semblance of a plan and it’s not the beginning of the end.

Hey now we can get someone even less progressive than Biden, who will be just as bad on genocide as Biden (so will do nothing to make things better for all those single-issue voters who also somehow thought Trump would be better on genocide) and will soft pedal us to the right instead of the rocket propelled sprint to fascism that Trump would bring.

Feels like a bit of a lateral move to me.

Joe is an extremist when it comes to Israel, even for a right-wing democrat. He literally went around Obama to make promises to Netanyahu during their term. If we get someone without dementia and who is less enthusiastic about killing palestinian children that’s still a net benefit.

Harris is best to mitigate legal challenges.

Why do you have to comment the same fucking thing word for word in Every. Single. Post. about Biden. That’s not very constructive or useful.

I don’t think you understand, mate. This guy really wants the man on the TV to be president, ok? You know, the one with no actual governing experience, the guy whose writers allow him to be perceived as witty and informed and snarky, the host who licked the boot of Apple because he thought the world needed to hear his take on public affairs. That guy!

As for Porter, I assume he means Jody Porter, lead guitarist of Grammy Award-nominated power pop band Fountains of Wayne.

        Stewart/Porter yall!!

I don’t see jon running for office, but to think he couldn’t run his presidency better than trump has is a ridiculously unsound take to have. Jon got to where he was from his own doing not from standing on the back of his father. I’d take the daily show over the apprentice anyday.

Why do people post the same fucking post, almost word for word? I’m spreading my opinion amongst the multitude of threads talking about the exact same subject. I’m not putting a cute little twist of the wording just so you don’t feel like you are reading the same thing.

Because actors like Trump and Reagan have done so well as POTUS? Let’s stick with people who have professionally held office.

They have, unironically, done a great job of getting what they want.

Reaganomics has defined America for decades. Trumpism is redefining it, and both were accomplished by being presidents the American public is actually excited to support, for good or ill.

Have you considered the benefits of that being done by someone who isn’t a raging asshole?
