Shapiro, 51, is the chief executive of a crucial battleground state rich with electoral votes, where Harris is set to campaign with her yet-to-be-named running mate on Tuesday. Speculation had mounted that based on the location of Tuesday’s rally, in Philadelphia, that it may just be Shapiro.

That scenario and Shapiro’s fortunes now appear to have dimmed.

Shapiro has come under fire for his administration’s move last year to pay nearly $300,000 to settle a sexual harassment claim against one of his longtime aides. The deal involved a non-disclosure agreement.

As of Thursday, the Harris team was still actively vetting potential candidates. “They’re watching the J.D. Vance experiment go horribly wrong and they want to be sure they’re doing their due diligence,” a longtime Democratic operative told the Daily Beast.

The JD Vance Experiment sounds like a B-grade horror flic.

Or a shitty prog-rock band where the lead singer hits the stage dressed as a couch.

I’m still expecting Trump to “fire” Vance. Most likely after he knows the Dem VP pick.

He’s going to have to do something about his free fall and I don’t expect Trump to do any introspection.

Whoever Harris ends up picking for the ticket VP should immediately and loudly call for scheduling a VP debate with Vance. Make them squirm and come up with more excuses for ducking yet another debate.

I doubt he’ll dump Vance - that’s how he’s getting the big bucks from Thiel and other tech bros.

Plus, he’s convinced he “doesn’t need the votes” to win, so why give up on any VP pick? If he’s going to push fake electors and sew chaos to win, he doesn’t need popular opinions or people.

Yeah, dumping him because he’s worried would be admitting that the VP pick matters and he’s not carrying it himself. He’s not gonna do that.

Honest question: What free fall? It seems the polls have barely moved beyond the margin of error, even if that subtle shift is in Harris’s favor. Am I missing out on Republicans criticizing Vance? I’ve really only heard it coming from the left.

At the time, it was my prediction and sense of things.

Now I believe it’s a bit more established. Free fall may be strong wording, but compared to feeling like he had it locked up… This is vastly different.

          Trump is barely even campaigning.
