Probably, because they already use some dysfunctional AI to screen.

    > Don’t allow sideloading
    > Everyone must pay to publish an app in the App Store (once every few years for a new MacBook, and for publishing the app)
    > More $
    > People have to add payment/ad models to apps to the simplest apps, that fix Apples mistakes (Calculator on iPad…)
    > 30% cut > More $

And that’s why there are literally no good apps in the app store. Devs are forced to make it hypercapitalistic. To get a simple apple app running and out, it’s multiple thousands of investments.
For Android it’s one command to install android studio on any device, load a template, program, compile, sideload and you’re done. Put it on git as GPLv2/3 for good measure.

I new it was bad for devs on Apple, but holy shit. Now I finally know why Ankidroid is free on everything else but $25 on Apple. Atrocious, that shit is extortion…

… that aren’t filled with ads and/or have a large price tag. Especially compared to the huge FOSS App collection Android has. And it’s not like I could just be like “oh damnit then I’m just gonna use the terminal for doing task XY” - unless I jailbreak. Which Apple doesn’t want, of course.

I will jailbreak because FUCK APPLE AND THEIR NORTH-KOREA-LEVEL LOCKED DEVICES. It is not secure just because you say it, you have to prove it independently via, say, opensourcing it.

They broke my fucking balls for trivial reasons during approval process. However, it seems like you get a free pass and a feature if you are the creator of a spyware with a trademarked name. Truly genius at work.

      1. How much did you pay, in general, to create an app for apple and
      2. If there would only be Android (including sideloading) and Linux Mobile, would you prefer that?

You need a developer license to distribute an app on Apple’s App Store. It costs 99 USD per year.

Platform choice is determined by your target audience and your goals. I previously developed for both iOS and Android. Without mass adoption, Linux mobile apps would not be economically feasible.

My position is different as a hobbyist but I do not have a use case for a Linux mobile app at the moment.
