Hi and thanks ahead for any advice! My laptop–an HP Pavilion x360–fell today and I just noticed it must have fell onto the charging port, where a charger was plugged in. As a result, the port of the computer is not working and that area of the computer is cracked on the side by where you plug the charger in and to the far right side of the bottom of the computer by where the hinge is causing some of the material by the hinge to flare outward (I can push this in to make it flush with everything but the charger still doesn’t work when I do that. I wish I can add pictures but can’t seem to figure that out–so its necessary to say that I’m awful at tech related stuff and am looking for information on getting this to a tech repair shop.
- Is the fixable by a professional? If so do you have any estimate on how long it should take to get it fixed and how much it might cost in total for parts and labor? And do you have any tech shops that you’d recommend, the closest to me is a ubreakifix–would they do a good job with it?
- If this can’t be repaired (or even if it can I guess) should I consider trying to charge my computer another way? It has usb a and c and hdmi. If one of those options would be cheaper and just as effective, please let me know!
Thanks for any help! I don’t care how it looks or anything in the end and I mainly just use my laptop at home, if that info helps. Let me know if I didn’t explain anything clearly enough.
