That is to illustrate that what is seen as optimal varies, and the whole thing is just aesthetics. We need to transform our aesthetics away from what capitalism taught us to (new/shiny is good) and to something that aligns with our survival. Vintage/wabi-sabi/emotional durability is good.

Then we can define optimality and stop when we peak. For everything.
