    I used to have a directory with a collection of interesting viruses that I got my hands into. My favorite was a Word macro one that just logged the data about everybody it infected on its source, and spread.

    Then Debian added an anti-virus to their repository, and I said “hey, cool, I wonder what it does”. Turns out if erases viruses by default.

    Sure, of it’s a Windows virus, but there are plenty of Linux viruses as well (or a Windows virus on a computability layer such as wine)
