I mean the first website you posted (wikitravel.org) also seems alright to me? It has useful advice (at least for my city) and the content seems to be licensed under Creative Commons… I wasn’t aware of the exact background anyways… But: I found some nice tips on Wikivoyage on my trips. Often some insider tips, because it’s not a well known website 😉

Was about to post this as well. Wikitravel was bought by a private corporation, while Wikivoyage is run by the Wikimedia foundation.
