going to an online strangers house to confront them on camera

Isn’t that what journalists are supposed to do? Ya know… Investigate?

If it was some Fox News personality that went to his door would it be any different?

What about a concerned neighbor? Or literally anyone who just happened by that day and say, found their mail was delivered to the wrong address. Or any number of reasons.

It’s never legitimate to open your door and immediately pepper spray someone ringing your bell. If you think they’re dangerous you could just not open the door or perhaps call the police or any number of other completely normal reactions.

Of course, if you’re a total psychopath Nazi then it might seem like a normal reaction 🤷

You seemed to miss my first sentence. His reaction is OBVIOUSLY not OK.

The point is there are crazy fuckers everywhere and going to confront someone you don’t know on camera is fucking dumb. It could have gone much worse for her (again to reiterate, because apparently I need to spell it out for you, I DON’T THINK THAT’S OK, but it was a seriously possibility and pretending it wasn’t is again, fucking dumb).

And did I miss something in the article? Where does it say she was a journalist investigating anything?
