I just recently acquired a TP-LINK TL-SX3008F eight port SFP+ managed L2+ switch, which I am liking. (6 watts idle and fanless).
I have my three m920q proxmox cluster nodes connected to it via DAC and are working great. Quiet & cool. (each m920q 11 watts idle and around 35 watts when a 10gbe transfer is active). (Using Mellanox Connect x 3.)
I now want to connect my Synology DS1522+ NAS to it, and Synology only offers an RJ45 10gbe connection via their proprietary $109 module. I would of much rather had SFP+ connectivity to be honest.
So I need an RJ-45 transceiver for the NAS to plug into my SX3008F. I have no clue which one to get. I want most efficient (coolest running) one possible – which hopefully doesn’t cost too much as well. I know they get hot and there will only be two computers with RJ45 10gbe, connected to the SX3008F – the rest DAC.
Suggestions would be really appreciated. Thanks!
