Long story short, I have accumulated a decent bit of hardware because of “good deals” I find. Some of my equipment isn’t used or is heavily under. Used I was wondering what y’all would do given my use case. I use my NAS as a media server and to store about 1TB (and growing) of family videos and photos. I’m currently using about 3.2TB of my mirror 4TB set up. I planned on upgrading to 8TB drives soon. I have a Dell optiplex i5-8500 running bare metal Debian as a playground. I have my old gaming PC as a proxmox hypervisor. 6700k, 32GB ram. Truenas running on the raid 4TB NAS drives mentioned earlier. I have a 10GbE switch that is extremely underutilized but got for a great price. I have a synology DS220j that’s not longer used with a 4TB NAS drive in it. I’m about to pick up a synology DS418 with three 8TB NAS drives I have a 170W POE 1Gbps switch that’s currently unused My backups are on an external drive, a 5TB internal drive in my gaming computer and important stuff is backed up to the cloud.
What would y’all do? I mainly care about Plex, *arrs and a NAS. I plan on selling whatever I don’t use to declutter the house and recoup some money back
