I’m ripping my hair out trying to get a car. I’ve been without a car for close to 5 years. I’m done. Done relying on people, wasting money on lyfts, walking, the embarrassment.

I kind of dislike driving, haven’t driven regularly in a while. I do dream of having my own car again though, never really had the chance to love driving.

Everyone says to me “oh don’t get a car loan” but why am I going to work hard to save up $7-10k for a “decent” used car that is almost 20 years old? When I can use that money to put down on a newer vehicle under $20k that will hopefully last me 300k miles. I don’t find an old but reliable vehicle, like say a 2005 toyota to be worth putting money out on. Besides the way these people price these old toyotas just because of the reliability factor make me want to scream. They could still have problems.

I would love a honda accord. Maybe a newer corolla. I don’t have the money to put down right now, hopefully by the summer. Would it be stupid to finance say a 2015? I would prefer to do a 48 month loan vs a 60 to pay it off sooner.

My credit is in pretty good shape. I’m almost done paying my one of three credit cards off. I am very scared of debt and car dealerships but why have good credit if I never use it?
