I don’t know what’s possessed me to rant rn. Probably talking to a family member about a book they’re listening to by the guy who made the adhd Ted talk (the first one you’ll find searching on youtube, I think).
How does it keep going in circles and circles all the goddamn time. Democrats this, Republicans that, “oh I’m somewhere inbetween,” guberment, etc. It’s like a fucking teacup ride. Going around and around in so many layering circles that it just drives me mad. Maybe once or twice it’s fun to go around but after so many years I just want off.
I get why people don’t want to fight a revolution, I don’t either, but FUCK, are people just stupid? How is it so fundamentally impossible for them to view anything outside of their narrow americunt worldview. It’s exhausting, it’s tiring, i can’t keep fucking doing this.
They intelligently choose bigoted narratives that they perceive to be in their material/class interests. Unless you can provide a narrative reflecting the truth which benefits their perceived material interests in the short term they will always double down on willful ignorance. Save your energy for elsewhere.
liberal incrementalist bullshit becomes increasingly hollow in the face of worsening anthropocene extinction and impending ecological collapse
generally speaking when people are presented a set of options (or a pair) they discuses the options presented not the ones not presented, just how the brain works, people talk about whats in their minds, about what others are talking about, about what the media they consume is talking about.
Personally i would recommend disengaging politically with people who are already disengaged from what u are saying, like just dont talk politics with people wgo are clearly not interested in changing their minds, if they bring up politics switch the topic or redirect it to something u care about and they could be moved on like specific policies.
Yep. I keep trying to get my dad to understand that Dems were just Project 2025 but slower and with gentle bullshit to guide it in. He is kinda getting it but I keep having to remind him to keep a larger perspective (settler colonialism as the primary contradiction that drives capitalism, racism, etc) but he still has a LOT of deprogramming to be done. Good luck with your family, comrade. Hopefully they will one day see something out the sides of the overton window that wakes them up to reality that life doesn’t only exist within capitalist realism.
I would still vote for local Dems because they are what get me to keep certain sociall services, as someone that is disabled.
Critical support for those who provide your needs, just remember that eventually the party will betray your needs as well once they decide it’s no longer useful for them or their
ownersdonors.Oh, I agree. The ones I refer to our outliers.
Nobody wants to die. For most people die later is still better than now.
