I didnt know any other forums to post this on except this one so sorry if this isnt suppose to be posted here. I had recently tried to access my bios to change some settings so the new fans i purchased wouldnt run so loud but for some reason when I tried to get into the bios, it wouldnt display on my monitor, so I decided to clear the cmos just to see if that would fix the issue and then suddenly i was getting hit with a ‘c1’ post error code. So after trying to reset the cmos multiple times, I still ran into this error. “Luckily” for me my board has a bios switch so I just switched to the other bios and It booted up just fine, so I tried to get back in the bios and once again it wouldnt display, so once again I cleared the cmos and I got hit with the same ‘c1’ error code. Upon further research I found out that for some stupid reason MSI doesnt disclose what that error means for their boards, not in the manual nor on the internet but it seems that the error code correlates to a memory error of some kind with other boards. So I tried taking out all my ram and leaving one stick in and slotted it in each slot with no success and still got that c1 error code. I tried 2 sticks of ram, 3 sticks, and all 4 sticks, still the same code. I tried taking out my graphics card. reseating the 24 pin connector and the cpu connectors, tried booting with no hard drives connected, put in old sticks of ram, pulled out my laptop to download an earlier bios version so i could flash each bios but nothing worked. So I decided to RMA my board. After waiting about 2 weeks I finally got my board back today. Booted it up and it booted right into windows, so I wanted to check if i could get in the bios, and to my surprise (not really) it didn’t display on my monitor. So I decided to switch my bios over to the other one and wouldnt you know, the c1 error code appeared. At this point i knew the drill cause I already went through it for a whole day before i decided to RMA my board, As soon as i decide to clear the cmos im gonna get the c1 error code across the board on each bios. I cleared cmos and now each bios has the c1 error code. Im so lost at this point at what it could be unless its a cpu issue which is my only other option to get a replacement but im really not in the mood to buy new parts and i specifically need this board because it has thunderbolt ports and i need those for my UAD Apollo Twin mixer cause thats the only way itll connect to my computer. If i buy a new board im gonna want to buy all new parts which again i dont want to fork over that money right now. If someone has any idea how i could fix this I would love to hear your feedback!
