Teufel speakers sound great usually, I’m very happy with my Bluetooth speakers from teufel the only thing I don’t like about them is that they use their own special jack for charging. These seem to address that issue.

The reviews on the company website praise it quite a highly. (And I think it’s not the kind of company to put fake reviews up there.)

Counter point…Fender has 0 experience making a stereo speaker and no history for audio reproduction…just a mono signal amp.

Huh? Whence Fender? The speaker is from Teufel, a German company which has been making reputable stereo and surround speakers for decades.

The only thing in this direction that I can find is that Fender and Teufel have some cooperation going on since 2024, but it doesn’t even relate to this speaker.

Why the hell would I trust a mono amp manufacturer to make a good stereo speaker? Especially when there is absolutely 0 stereo reproduction products or experience. Fender makes a single guitar sound ok. Not a speaker company.

Not excusing the ignorance, but if you click the link to the vendor’s page from a US IP it offers to redirect you to their US page, which is completely flooded with Fender X Teufel co-branded products:

        https://us.teufelaudio.com/?delivery_country=US

There’s literally nothing but Fender co-branded products in the US. Kinda sad actually because I want this open source speaker

The pop up on the original German page is fucking toxic. No. You don’t get any consent to send my shit to your marketing partners. Ffs

Yeah, and being a tech site they really know how to block out any of the usual ways to circumvent it (reaload-and-aboard, archive.ph, …). Their articles are very good though. One of the reasons I set up a keyboard shortcut for TOR. (Sadly I haven’t yet figured out how to create a shortcut (on KDE) that opens TOR right at the URL in my clipboard, to open such webpages in quarantine with absolute minimum effort… maybe via x/ydotool. For the time being, I’m content with making the TOR launcher available in $PATH via ln -s /home/username/somefolder/tor-browser_de/Browser/start-tor-browser tor, so that I can open krunner, type ‘tor’ and paste the clipboard content there.)
