Predator: Badlands, Dan Trachtenberg’s upcoming action movie set in the Predator universe, won’t be R-rated. But, its creators hope, it will feel like an R regardless. Here's why.
It’s ok for a franchise to explore a different aspect and flesh out its world. The synths are an interesting thing to expand on. Alien Earth went this route too… Hopefully Badlands has better writing and direction though.
I agree. There is a set formula people are expecting from a Predator movie; various other Predator projects have attempted to put their spin on it.
Prey was the most successful for me and I am willing to expect more from this story than I would otherwise give a new Predator movie because it is from the same crew that made Prey.
Then what is the point? That is like 80% of the reason to watch.

I am cautiously optimistic on this one.
