Counterpoint: Almost all of US history
Yes, WW2 was the exception not the rule.
WW2 was BARELY an exception, we were almost on the other side
And, you know, Japanese internment camps.
FDR dragged us, kicking and screaming, into WWII. Because we won, we pretended that was our whole identity the entire time.
Civil War was at least 50-50. The Union was certainly antifa.
Lmao no. Fascists were inspired by America.
Well, Nazis were, in regards to Manifest Destiny and segregation.
Fascists, as in ideological fascists, actually really fucking hated New Deal America and (small r) republican governments in general. Mussolini actually had a pretty big bug up his ass about it, especially because the American Republic was patterned on Rome and as someone trying to bring back the Roman Empire that was kind of annoying.
There’s quite a lot of writing where he bitches and moans about how American democracy makes it weak.
Which makes you wonder when part of the country proudly changes the flag to look like this …
in vexillology, the study of flags, … flags had and still have great meaning because they are easily understood by those people who can read and not read … they might not be able to understand something like ‘The Declaration Of Independence’ or ‘The Constitution’ but they would all understand a symbolic image like a flag. Which is why changing the colours, orientation or images of a flag is so important … as soon as you change it, it is a symbolic meaning to say that you no longer identify with the old flag and now stand with a new flag you’ve created from the old.
Cringe.
But all the MAGA wear this flag everyday. So that means Antifa is actually MAGA??? Tell me when we exit this wormhole.
they wear a trump or punisher flag too.
The Swatzika also used to be a symbol a peace…
